Sulphate Plant Conveyor Replacement: Coke Making Area, Port Kembla
Due to the extremely corrosive sulphate environment, the conveyor - and corresponding structure - feeding the sulphate plant storage shed has degraded significantly over time and as such required complete replacement. This included the conveyor components themselves, the trussed bridge supporting structure spanning from the lower end at the sulphate processing facility up the storage shed concrete wall structure as well as the upper platform area that is hanging from the sulphate storage shed structure roof.
Detailing the steelwork was done in a manner which allowed for flexibility in installation procedures and as such installation was carried out quickly and efficiently with allowance for site variances which very commonly occur.
