Rail line points switching upgrade

Floor required replacement of old control and signal enclosures. These were corroded and the electrical equipment was causing reliability problems. which in turn was creating the safety issues.

PEA discussed options of overhaul/refurbishment to compete replacement. A cost effective option of replacement was decided upon with reusing some key items such as Transformers and specialised relays. This gave flexibility to the system via PLC (PICO) control and also keeping costs down while significantly improving reliability. This option also allowed the system to have some fault indication to monitor for problem that occurs during operation and assisting with fault finding/troubleshooting and faulty equipment repairs. PEA managed the redesign, equipment selection and procurement and installation of the replacement panels which has eliminated the reliability concerns.
